Traditional Jamaican Cocoa Tea

On Sundays in our house, you would commonly find our aunty or mommy in the kitchen making a saucepan of cocoa tea for everyone before dinner preparations began. Cocoa tea is a hot chocolate-like drink made from water, cinnamon leaves, nutmeg and a compressed nugget of raw chocolate, grated right into the saucepan. The cocoa tea was simmered a good long while to create harmony among all the ingredients.
